The project

Providing more space and reliability for buses and active travel through bus priority and traffic congestion management measures.

The opportunity

Substantial car-free development, where the public realm is re-prioritised for sustainable transport and people’s health.

Progress

We have established Bus Service Improvement plans and Zero Emissions Zone, both receiving financial support from Central Government. Consultation for further transport schemes is planned for 2022, including an expansion of the Zero Emission Zone, traffic filters and a workplace parking levy. These aim for delivery from 2023.
